What Is WRONG?
In her mind, I am 'hard',
In her mind, I am ignorant,
In her mind, I care not, I bother not.
Little does she knows,

I am no longer - the 'black' one THEY thought so.

As painful as Grandpa's death;
As painful as when Dad leaves for sail.
The 'surface' seems so calm,
The 'inner' was a mess.
No matter how I try, she never believes in me.

Thoughts on National Day ~ 09 August 2007 (Thursday)
On this day we celebrate our nation's birthday ~ our achievements, our success!
On this day, in Japan where I penned down my thoughts;
hoping to leave behind yet another memory of what all these while has meant for me.
Singapore has come so far and today we have become a colorful City; known to many.
How far more are we going? How near are we to our dreams?
In living standards, we have progress from Kampong -> HDBs -> Condos -> Landed Properties;
Switching from harmony, closeness -> individualism.
Is this what we have been aiming for ~ being known solely as an individual, who ONE is? What ONE is capable of? Competing with one another, in terms of wealth, ability + intelligence.
Or have we somehow & somewhere, unconsciously, have mislead ourselves.
We are brainwashed to have to 4ever strive for improvements, to 4ever be flexible to changes.
We now see children's scheduled filled with endless tuitions and ECAs...
We have entrusted all our dreams of SUCCESS into our children's hands; making sure that our SUCCESS is passed down generations after generations...have we not conveniently 'erased' their supposedly-carefree days of childhood! Shouldn't we be assisting them in achieving a healthier physic, an independent mind, a determined yet warm personality.
We talked about providing 1st Class Service ~ have we?
Scenario: DFS ~ almost 99% of tourists from all over the world.
Not to mention the name of the BRANDED shop, these are what I observed:
Staff(s) commented: 1) "Our shop do not gift-wrap", 2) "DFS DOES NOT have a gift-
wrap counter."
3) Cashier Counter staffs chatting over personal matters while serving customers.
4) Staff A interuptted Staff B who is in the midst of attending a customer, & the
latter went on to 'assist' Staff A, leaving perhaps the not-so-important customer
waiting in vain.
5) Staffs' friends bought a brand-new camera and was 'testing' the sharpness of the
camera IN the shop; the staffs were all busy posing for the camera!!!
Are we really moving towards 1st-Class Service or are we telling people that we do not provide such 'low-class' or 'simple' tasks or simply 'we have more important things to do than to gift-wrap' & we are so 'FRIENDLY'???
1st Class Service oriented - まだ、まだ、we still have a LONG way to GO...
Striving towards a better nation, we have alot more to learn;
Personality, self-discipline, sensitivity, initiative, observations....
Life is NOT about competing with our neigbours,
It's about surpassing oneself,
It's about self-rating,
It's about self-achievement.
It's about self-realization.
The world is not about YOU or ME;
It's about US and how OUR strength can make WE a better tomorrow.
HAPPY NATIONAL DAY, SINGAPORE!

Handle Us With Care - We Are Fragile
When you want to say something-anything;Think before you let that word out.
When you want to express your anger-disappointment;
Think before you release.
When you want to reprimand-criticize;
Think before you react.
HOWEVER...
When you want to hug-kiss me;
Cuddle me like you never did;
Shower me with love as you never had;
The thinking-cap can be put aside.

Once our hearts are shattered, it can never be amended.

I Never Believe It Until This Day....Are We So UnDeserving???
"I thought YOU sent me here to help;
I thought I could help.
But never did I realized - we were all so undeserving;
We were all, nothing but THE SAME"
It took me such a long time, to finally embrace all my courage,
Thinking that since no one would dare, I shall do all a favor.
If not for our relation, I could have not bothered that much.
But the more for our relation, the more I have to say - that's my wishful thought!
Things aren't moving the right way as it should,
I decide it's time for a K.O.
Never did I know - I was the one, about to be K.O-ed.
I note a list of what I was about to say,
But neither one point was ever said.
I was accused of being not knowing, WE were accused of being THE SAME.
I was deemed as a gossiper, HE was already deemed hopeless since few years back.
What have we really done to deserve this? - from someone we always had respected.
Only to realize that he trust us NOT!
Was any chance given or were we paneled DEAD - from the very start?
Were there any guidance or were we already sentenced even before judgment day?
I asked for an Open-Talk, was there ever one?
Every word cuts, as sharp as a knife would slit my flesh; slowly and carefully - making sure that every slit never miss.
If we are so undeserving, why don't you just SPELL it out?
I thought I could help.

Before And After ~ Marriage
Marriage ~ Some say "It is wonderful", Some say "It is Hell".
I say "If you see it as wonderful, you will have nothing but happiness"
"If you see it as hell, you will have nothing but UNhappiness"
In this universe, we have mankind; MAN & WOMAN.
Man & woman exist as we are meant to be paired, to reproduce & to learn to live with one another.
When two hands clap, their effort together in turns produces a sound.
People clap when they are happy and people applaud to mark an achievement.
When a couple marches in before the start of a wedding ceremony,
We often hear congratulation-applauses from all invited guests.
Would you have heard the guests saying: This is HELL or This is WONDERFUL?
Marriage makes no difference to a relationship.
It is the mind that makes the difference.
Before & After
My reply is: IT DOESN'T.
Nothing changes unless you make it seem that way.
In fact, marriage builds trust, confidence and it definitely mature both HIM & HER.

- He/She is strong/weak. Characters are hard to change.
My reply is: IT DOESN'T.
